ATLANTA (July 29, 2020) | On July 26, 2020, Governor Brian P. Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp visited three locations in Senate District 25 – Milledgeville, Monticello and Madison.
“I want to thank Governor Kemp and First Lady Kemp for traveling to Senate District 25 and inviting me to join them,” said Sen. Burt Jones (R – Jackson). “During the stops in Monticello and Madison, they met with local leaders, business owners and citizens to discuss the importance of economic development and steps we all need to take to keep our state moving forward. In Milledgeville, they attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for Parham Kitchen, a state-of-the-art facility that will create hundreds of jobs in our district, region and the entire state. I commend Governor Kemp for continuing to prioritize our state’s business friendly climate and working to ensure we remain as the number one state in which to do business. While our citizens are fighting doubt on many fronts during these unprecedented times, one thing is certain – Georgia is open for business and we are fighting for you. I will continue to work with the administration to bring additional projects like these to Senate District 25, middle Georgia and the entire state.”
The Governor and First Lady’s Baldwin County stop in Milledgeville was for a ribbon cutting ceremony for Parham Kitchen. The state of the art facility will be located at Renaissance Park, formerly known as the Central State Hospital Campus, and is a partnership between FoodService Partners (FSP), a company based in Maryland and the Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority (CSHLRA). After three years of planning and development, the 123,000 square foot kitchen will open its doors as phase one of the plan to develop the Georgia International Food Center Renaissance Park. Parham Kitchen will work with FoodService Partners of Georgia, LLC (FSPGA), Georgia Grown, Flavor of Georgia and other state producers to begin co-packaging and distributing Georgia’s products around the United States. It is estimated that Parham Kitchen’s state-of-the-art facility and equipment will produce over 200,000 healthy meals and menu options per day. The facility will serve a variety of locations that need meals and co-packaging options including schools, hospitals, universities, grocery stores, convenience stores, long-term care homes, including assisted facilities and many others.
