ATLANTA (February 11, 2013) – Senator Burt Jones (R -Jackson) welcomed members of the Baldwin County Fire Department to celebrate Firefighters Day at the Capitol last week.
“It was my privilege to meet with the Baldwin Firefighters to thank them for their service to District 25,” said Sen. Jones. “The courage they display when rushing to the scene while everyone is fleeing is not only commendable but highly admirable. I am thankful for these men and women who exemplify a great commitment to the public safety of all Georgians.”
Sen. Jones was joined by (from left to right) Battalion Chief Tony Waller, Chief Troy Reynolds, Sen. Jones, Deputy Chief of Administration Steve Somers, Battalion Chief Richard Gordon, Firefighter Billy Benzur, Captain Lewis Osborne, Firefighter Hank Griffith, Battalion Chief Young and in the lower front, Deputy Chief Gilbert French.
The 41st Annual Firefighters Recognition Day was held at the Capitol last Tuesday, February 5. The firefighters were honored with Senate Resolution 152 to honor the commitment and sacrifices made by them in their communities on a daily basis.
