Sen. Brown Recognized as Champion for Environment

ATLANTA (Sept. 16, 2010) – Senate Democratic Leader Robert Brown was recognized as a champion for pro-conservation policy by Georgia Conservation Voters. At the Tenth Annual Environmental Leadership Awards, he was honored with a membership to the 2010 Environmental Most Improved Legislators and the 2010 Environmental Honor Roll.

“Our future generations depend on the pro-conservation policies we implement today. Clean air and water, and Georgia’s natural beauty act as magnets to businesses and people that will grow Georgia.” said Brown. “I am honored by this recognition and thank the Georgia Conservation Voters for their hard work promoting a clean, sustainable environment.”

Sen. Brown improved his 2009-2010 Legislative Scorecard by more than 20 percent, resulting in his membership to the 2010 Environmental Most Improved Legislators. He was recognized as a 2010 Environmental Honor Roll member because he scored 90 percent or above on the 2009-2010 Legislative Scorecard.

The mission of Georgia Conservation Voters is to preserve and enhance the quality of life for all Georgians by making conservation issues a top priority with Georgia’s elected officials, political candidates and voters. They are the political voice of the conservation movement in Georgia.
