ATLANTA (September 24, 2019) | Sen. Brian Strickland (R – McDonough) has been appointed by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve on the Complete Count Committee, a non-partisan group tasked with ensuring all Georgia residents are counted in the upcoming 2020 U.S. Census.
“We must continue to ensure that every voice in our community is heard, not just the voices of those with the resources or power to make noise,” said Sen. Strickland. “When it comes to the census, it is especially important that every citizen, no matter their socio-economic background, is counted so our voices are heard in Washington and the state Capitol when it comes to electing our representatives and receiving our share of the tax dollars we send to the federal and state government. Thank you to Governor Kemp for allowing me the opportunity to serve on the Complete Count Committee and making certain that we don’t allow politics to intervene in the 2020 Census.”
The Complete Count Committee was established through executive order and “will ensure every resident of Georgia is counted in the 2020 U.S. Census.” The Committee is composed of 66 leaders from across the state and will be chaired by Rusty Haygood of the Department of Community Affairs and Anna Miller of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget.
