Scholarship Opportunity for Young Leaders for Georgia Military Scholarships

ATLANTA (November 4, 2015) | Sen. Jesse Stone (R – Waynesboro) is pleased to share information from the University of North Georgia (UNG) to promising leaders from District 23 for the Georgia Military Scholarships.

The University of North Georgia is one of six senior military colleges in the United States, and is awarded 42 full Georgia Military Scholarships each year to its students. Each scholarship is given to deserving high school seniors who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree from UNG, and who plan to commission as second lieutenants in the Georgia Army National Guard after graduation.

Applicants must have been accepted to UNG in a “regular admit” status, have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0, be a legal resident of Georgia, and meet the physical and health standards for serving in the Guard.  Senator Stone will be glad to assist applicants with the required letter of recommendation from a member of the Georgia General Assembly.

The scholarship deadline is February 1, 2016; however we encourage applicants to complete the application process early.  More information about the scholarship may be found at www.ung.edu/cadet/scholarships.
