ATLANTA (December 13, 2018) | On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, Sen. Larry Walker (R – Perry) announced that the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office was awarded a Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (H.E.A.T.) vehicle by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).
“Distracted, impaired and aggressive driving are the leading causes of traffic fatalities in the United States,” said Sen. Walker. “I am very grateful for Director Harris Blackwood, Law Enforcement Services Director Roger Hayes and everyone at the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for their commitment to keeping our citizens safe. I am thankful that we have people like Pulaski County Sheriff Danny Brannen and his staff to enforce laws that protect us on the road and at home.”
H.E.A.T. is a multi-jurisdiction
al task force specifically-designed to combat aggressive traffic across Georgia. The patrol car will be utilized to combat aggressive traffic, including impaired driving and speeding. The goal of the H.E.A.T. taskforce is to reduce the number of impaired driving accidents by 10 percent and to help enforce the laws already in place to combat aggressive driving.
