ATLANTA (March 22, 2012) – Sen. Jesse Stone (R-Waynesboro) presented HB 845 to the Senate on Wednesday to require early care and education programs provide information on the flu vaccine to the enrolled children and their parents. HB 845 passed with a vote of 42-7.
Inclusion of Foreclosure Fraud in State Statute Passes the Senate
ATLANTA (March 22, 2012) – Sen. Jesse Stone (R-Waynesboro) carried HB 237 for the Attorney General Sam Olens in the Senate on Wednesday, where it received overwhelming support. This legislation will bring foreclosures under the residential mortgage fraud statute.

Senate Passes Bill to Create Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency
ATLANTA (March 20, 2012) – The Georgia Senate passed HB 1146 on Tuesday by a vote of 46 to 2. Sponsored in the Senate by Sen. Butch Miller (R-Gainesville), this legislation transfers the Division of Rehabilitation Services from the Department of Labor to the newly created Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency.

Senate Leadership Applauds Passage of Charter School Constitutional Amendment!
ATLANTA (March 19, 2011) – Today, House Resolution 1162 passed the state Senate with a vote of 40 to 18. Having received two-thirds majority vote, the Constitutional amendment will now be placed on the ballot for a vote by Georgia citizens. Bill to Eliminate Portion of Cherokee Property Taxes Moves Forward!
ATLANTA (March 15, 2012) – The Georgia Senate has passed a local homestead option sales tax legislation authored by Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers. This plan could eliminate the County portion of the property tax for Cherokee homeowners.
