Jefferson Hospital to Receive $900,000 in Grants from the Rural Hospital Stabilization Grant Program

ATLANTA (August 5, 2022) | Last week, the Georgia Department of Community Health awarded $9 million in grant funds to ten rural hospitals across the state with each hospital receiving $900,000. Jefferson Hospital, located in Senate District 23, was selected to as one of the recipient of these funds.

“Rural hospitals across Georgia each face unique challenges which demand a timely and effective response in order to ensure all Georgians, regardless of where they live, have access to quality healthcare. I am proud to see Jefferson Hospital in Louisville receive these much needed funds to stabilize its operations, improve patient capacity, and continue to serve as a vital driver of economic growth,” said Sen. Max Burns (R – Sylvania). “Ensuring all Georgians have access to quality healthcare is a top priority and I would like to thank Governor Brian Kemp and the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) for fighting for the needs and upkeep of rural hospitals across the state.”

These funds were made possible through the Rural Hospital Stabilization Grant, facilitated by DCH’s State Office of Rural Health. Since the program began in 2014, the fund has awarded more than $39 million in grants to assist with maintenance and distinct problems facing rural hospitals throughout Georgia.
