Jeff Mullis Named One of 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend Magazine

ATLANTA (Jan. 27, 2011) – In its January 2011 issue, Georgia Trend Magazine released the 13th edition of the “100 Most Influential Georgians,” honoring the states most powerful and influential citizens, drawn from business, industry, government, politics, education, science and the arts.

Georgia Trend identified State Sen. Jeff Mullis (R-Chickamauga) for his leadership in several crucial issues facing Georgia.  The magazine noted “Mullis was writing legislation similar to Arizona’s tough new immigration laws before Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle recruited him to be part of a committee what will make immigration a main focus of this coming session.  As chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, Mullis also secured a $14.2 million federal study grant for a proposed high-speed rail system connecting Atlanta and Chattanooga.”

“I am very humbled to be listed with such this fantastic group of leaders in Georgia, and sincerely thank Georgia Trend for this great honor,” said Mullis.  I look forward to continuing the work this session to solve the transportation and immigration issues facing this great state while creating jobs and economic growth in this difficult economic environment.”

Mullis resides in Chickamauga, Georgia with his wife Teresa and two children.  This is the third time he has been honored with this award.

Sen. Jeff Mullis serves as Chairman of the Transportation Committee. He represents the 53rd Senate district which includes Chattanooga, Dade, and Walker counties and portions of Catoosa County.  He can be reached at his office in Atlanta at 404.656.0057 or by email at jeff.mullis@senate.ga.gov
