Funding for Rome Department of Driver Services Included in 2020 Budget

ATLANTA (March 29, 2019) | Sen. Chuck Hufstetler (R – Rome) announced today that a bond worth $720,000 was awarded to fund the Department of Driver Services (DDS) Customer Service Center in Rome.

“I am happy to announce that funding to replace the DDS center in Rome has been included in the FY 2020 General Budget, which was adopted yesterday by both the Senate and House,” said Sen. Hufstetler. “This facility was built in the 1960’s and is long overdue for replacement and expansion. I would also like to thank my colleagues in the House for working with me to ensure this funding made it to the final version of the budget. I look forward to the Floyd County Commission helping move this project forward and giving us a facility that will be able to serve our needs.”

This appropriation was included in House Bill 31, the Fiscal Year 2020 General Budget, which passed the Senate and House yesterday.
