COVID-19 Vaccination Facility to Open in Habersham County

ATLANTA (February 22, 2021) | Last week, Governor Brian Kemp announced the opening of four state-run mass vaccination facilities for COVID-19, including one located in Habersham County. Located in Clarkesville at the Habersham County Fairgrounds, the facility will begin operations on Monday, February 22 and will have the goal of administering 1,100 vaccines per day, totaling 22,000 vaccines each week.

“I am proud of the work that Gov. Kemp has done to bring vaccines to all Georgians, but particularly to those of us in rural parts of the state,” said Sen. Hatchett. “Facilities such as these will quickly increase our overall number of vaccinated citizens and allow us to more quickly return to a sense of normalcy. I would also like to thank the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency for their assistance and for all frontline healthcare employees who will be working tirelessly at these mass vaccination sites to keep us healthy. I look forward to continuing to work to bring additional vaccines to our community and I urge all of those eligible to receive a vaccine to follow the appropriate steps to schedule an appointment.”

The Habersham County site will offer the Pfizer vaccine, include a drive through, and use ultra-cold storage technology. The facility will be open Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eligible patients can preregister at myvaccinegeorgia.com beginning on Monday. Other counties selected for mass vaccination sites include Bibb, Dougherty, and Fulton.
