James Magazine Selects Sen. Jeff Mullis to Receive Annual “Legislator of the Year” Honor
ATLANTA (July 10, 2013) – James magazine, one of Georgia’s leading publications discussing Georgia news and politics, has selected Senator Jeff Mullis (R – Chickamauga) as the magazine’s 2013 “Legislator of the Year”. The honor was listed in the magazine’s annual edition of the most influential Georgians, an honor given to leading individuals in business, government, politics, education, science and the arts.
“I am humbled and honored to be recognized as James magazine’s ‘Legislator of the Year’. Georgia has navigated its fair share of tough decisions over the past few years, but it is encouraging to see signs of recovery thanks to the innovative solutions passed by legislators, but generated by constituents. I am confident we will continue to see positive growth in our state,” said Senator Mullis.
Senator Mullis was recognized for work to improve statewide transportation infrastructure and commitment to creating sound public policy for Georgia. His unwavering loyalty to constituents and appointment as the Senate Rules Chairman in January 2013 were also cited in a special magazine profile about the honor. In addition, his conservative positions in several policy areas were also noted.
Mullis resides in Chickamauga, Georgia with his wife Teresa and two children. In addition to the James magazine honor, Senator Mullis received an A+ rating on the Georgia Chamber’s legislative scorecard earlier this year and was commended for his support regarding business community priorities.
