ATLANTA (November 28, 2018) | The Georgia General Assembly was ordered by Governor Deal to convene for a Special Legislative Session beginning on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. The purpose of the special session was to allocate money from the fiscal year 2019 amended budget to go towards relief efforts in southwest Georgia, where Hurricane Michael devastated acres of land and infrastructure. Sen. Larry Walker Carries Bill for Hurricane Relief
ATLANTA (November 19, 2018) | On Saturday, November 17, 2018, Sen. Larry Walker (R – Perry) carried House Bill 4EX, which will provide an income tax credit to timberland owners who lost trees due to Hurricane Michael. Sen. Walker also supported HB 1EX, the fiscal year 2019 amended budget that allocates $270 million in funds to impacted regions. Foster Families in Senate District 19 Celebrated
ATLANTA (November 16, 2018) | Foster families in Senate District 19 were recently treated with a dinner and evening with free child care to thank them for their investment in the lives of our most vulnerable. Sen. Blake Tillery (R – Vidalia) and Rep. Bill Werkheiser (R – Glennville) hosted the event with the help of Sen. Butch Miller (R – Gainesville), President Pro Tempore of the Senate.
