ATLANTA (May 4, 2023) | Yesterday, Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 107, also known as Izzy’s Law, in the north wing of the Georgia State Capitol, surrounded by the family of Israel “Izzy” Scott. Izzy’s Law, sponsored by Sen. Max Burns (R – Sylvania), will require the Department of Public Health to develop a widely-accessible safety plan for aquatic activities based on the standards for nationally-accredited swim instructors.

Gov. Brian Kemp Signs Legislation to Support Local Economic Development

ATLANTA (April 24, 2023) | Today, Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 213 into law in Augusta, Georgia. SB 213, sponsored by Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Sen. Max Burns (R – Sylvania), would permit property owners to replace an existing manufactured or mobile home with a new home, even if it causes a continuance of non-conforming use of property.

Georgia General Assembly Passes Legislation to Appropriate Primary and Election Funds

ATLANTA (March 31, 2023) | On Wednesday, Senate Bill 222, sponsored by Sen. Max Burns (R – Sylvania), received final passage in the Georgia Senate and now goes to Governor Brian Kemp to be signed. SB 222 ensures that all costs and expenses relating to election administration are paid for with lawfully appropriate public funds and prohibits certain local governments and individuals from soliciting or accepting donations or other things of value to support election administration.
