ATLANTA (April 15, 2010) – C-TRAN riders won a victory when a bill to fund Clayton County’s public transportation system passed out of a key Senate committee. Sen. Emanuel Jones (D-Decatur) urged members of the Senate Finance Committee to pass House Bill 1393 to give voters in Clayton County the ability to resurrect C-TRAN service.

Sen. Jones’ Zero Tolerance Bills up for Vote in Senate Committee

ATLANTA (March 1, 2010) – Sen. Emanuel Jones’ (D-Decatur) zero tolerance legislative package will be up for a vote tomorrow in the Senate Education and Youth Committee at 10:00 a.m.  Sen. Jones is working to limit the abuse of zero tolerance discipline policies and bring more common sense to how Georgia schools discipline students.

Sen. Jones to Address Clayton Commission on C-TRAN Tonight

ATLANTA (Feb. 16, 2010) – Sen. Emanuel Jones (D-Decatur) is encouraging the media and concerned public to join him and members of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus (GLBC) at tonight’s Clayton County Commissioners board meeting at 7:00 p.m., where he will address the commission on their decision to shut down C-TRAN.  Other stakeholders in Georgia’s transportation will be present to speak as well.
