Sen. Elena Parent Joins Policymakers Nationwide to Launch Education Group to Address Mismatch in Schools and Jobs

ATLANTA (November 21, 2019) | Senator Elena Parent (D – Atlanta) joins a group of state and local officials from across the United States to launch an education initiative today that will develop and implement a state and local policy agenda that better prepares students for college and the workforce. Co-chaired by Sen. Parent and West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon, the group titled the NewDEAL Forum Education Policy Group will be supported by the Alliance for Excellent Education as they utilize the expertise of public and non-profit thought leaders to identify and implement the most effective solutions regarding the intersection of academics and careers. Sen. Elena Parent to Host Georgia Peach Quilt Exhibition

ATLANTA (August 6, 2018)  |  Sen. Elena Parent (D – Atlanta) and Rep. Deborah Gonzalez (D – Athens) will host an exhibition of the Georgia Peach Quilt on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the Georgia Capitol Rotunda. The program will include a presentation of a resolution to Shannon Lawhon of Moms Demand Action, an organization created to raise awareness on gun safety. The organization created the Mother’s Dream Quilt Project as a commitment to making our communities safer, with the Georgia Peach Quilt being one of 17 quilts created so far. Continue reading “Sen. Sen. Parent to Hold a Press Conference on Confederate Monument Legislation

ATLANTA (October 24, 2017)  |  Sen. Elena Parent (D – Atlanta) will hold a press conference on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Sen.
