ATLANTA (Feb. 12, 2023) — On Feb. 16th, 2024, Sen. Sheikh Rahman (D-Lawrenceville), will be joined by The Georgia Coalition for the Advancement of an Environmental Justice Bill for a press conference.

ABOUT THE MEETING:
They will highlight the environmental concerns in Georgia and the need for the Georgia General Assembly to address environmental concerns in Georgia. Further, there is a need for the Georgia General Assembly to address environmental degradation and the cumulative impact of environmental stressors, socioeconomic stressors, and pre-existing health conditions in overburdened communities.

Senator Parent and Representatives Evans and Oliver to Hold Legislative Town Hall

ATLANTA (Jan. 29, 2024) — On Sunday, Feb. 4th, Democratic Caucus Chair Sen. Elena Parent (D-Atlanta), Rep. Becky Evans (D-Atlanta) and Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur) will host a legislative town hall. Kim Jackson Announces Upcoming Release of SPLC Report on the Intersection of Homelessness and Criminalization in Georgia

ATLANTA (January 26, 2024) — Sen. Kim Jackson of Georgia State District 41 is set to stand with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the SPLC Action Fund, as well as fellow legislators, community advocates and constituents at the Georgia State Capitol. The gathering, scheduled for January 29 at noon ET, is a call to action for the state to halt the criminalization of individuals dealing with homelessness and to implement the recommendations presented in the 2022 final report by the Senate Study Committee on Unsheltered Homelessness.
