Sen. Greg Dolezal Applauds Signing of ‘Riley Gaines Act of 2025’ into Law

ATLANTA (April 28, 2025) — Today, Governor Brian P. Kemp signed Senate Bill 1, the “Riley Gaines Act of 2025,” into law. This measure, sponsored by Sen. Greg Dolezal (R–Cumming), requires all public schools, participating private schools and public colleges in Georgia to designate sports teams as male, female or coed based on biological sex. It also prohibits biological males from competing on female teams and restricts access to restrooms, changing areas and overnight accommodations based on biological sex.

Sen. RaShaun Kemp Celebrates Final Passage of Legislation to Improve Student Literacy

ATLANTA (April 3, 2025) — Yesterday, Senate Bill 93 achieved final passage by the Georgia General Assembly following an amendment made by the House. It will task the Professional Standards Commission with establishing rules requiring evidence-based reading instruction aligned with the science of reading.

Sen. Billy Hickman Celebrates Senate Adoption of Resolution to Further Support Georgia’s K-12 Workforce

ATLANTA (April 2, 2025) — Today, the Senate successfully adopted Senate Resolution 237. The measure, sponsored by Chair of the Senate Committee on Education and Youth Sen. Billy Hickman (R–Statesboro), urges the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and other state education departments to provide recommendations to strengthen the K-12 education workforce.

Senators Elena Parent and Rick Williams Applaud the Final Passage of Senate Bill 241

ATLANTA (April 2, 2025) — On Monday, Senate Bill 241 achieved final passage in the House with bipartisan support. The measure would allow for organic human reduction as a means of disposing of deceased human bodies to those who are licensed funeral directors or establishments, embalmers and crematories.
