ATLANTA (Mar. 26, 2010) – The Georgia Senate overwhelmingly joined Sen. Hardie Davis (D-Augusta) Friday in support of two important pieces of legislation authored by the Augusta legislator.  Davis’ bills focused on ending the state-run Georgia Golf Hall of Fame Authority (Senate Bill 449) and improving oversized vehicle safety on Georgia’s roads (Senate Bill 526). Sen. Judson Hill’s Healthcare Choice Expansion Passes Senate

MARIETTA (Mar. 26, 2010) – Legislation aimed at increasing competition among heath insurance providers by expanding Georgian’s private healthcare choices outside the state passed the Georgia Senate Wednesday.  State Sen. Senator Butterworth Appointed Chairman of State and Local Government Committee

ATLANTA (March 25, 2010) – State Sen. Jim Butterworth (R-Clarkesville) was recently appointed chairman of the Senate Committee on State and Local Government by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and the Committee on Assignments. This appointment became necessary after Senator Lee Hawkins resigned from the State Senate to run for higher office.
