ATLANTA (November 5, 2014)  |  Georgians statewide voted to approve Constitutional Amendment A by a wide margin on Tuesday, November 4; effectively prohibiting the Georgia General Assembly from increasing the maximum state income tax rate. The measure was proposed through Senate Resolution 415 by Senate President Pro Tempore David Shafer (R – Duluth), a longtime supporter of tax reform, during the 2014 legislative session. John Wilkinson (R – Toccoa), chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, fell just short of “bringing home the bacon” at the 2014 Legislative Livestock Showdown on Saturday, October 11, at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry. The fourth annual event, an entertaining showmanship competition between members of the Georgia State House and Georgia State Senate, was co-sponsored by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. Sen. Hardie Davis Hosts Meet and Greet with Augusta’s New Leaders Council

AUGUSTA (October 15, 2014) |  Sen. Hardie Davis (Augusta) and the Augusta chapter of New Leaders Council (NLC) held a meet and greet Tuesday, October 14, at Café 209. The chapter, formed in 2013, is currently seeking and recruiting young professionals who aspire to become engaged civic leaders in the community.
