ATLANTA (August 19, 2019) | Sen. Larry Walker (R – Perry) will hold the first meeting of the Senate Study Committee on Creating a Georgia Agricultural Marketing Authority on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Atlanta Farmers Market.
The Senate Study Committee on Creating a Georgia Agricultural Marketing Authority was created by the passage of Senate Resolution 442 during the 2019 Legislative Session. As stated in the resolution, the committee shall be comprised of five members of the Senate. The Senate Study Committee on Creating a Georgia Agricultural Marketing Authority will review whether a state-wide authority is needed to provide facilities and create events to promote and market Georgia’s vibrant agriculture industry, farmers and their products. The committee will report their findings no later than December 1, 2019.
