ATLANTA (February 10, 2012) – Sen. Hardie Davis presented the keynote address at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Augusta’s “Youth of the Year” dinner on February 9 at Enterprise Mill. This event is held annually and honors youth who excel as leaders and academic role models in their school and surrounding communities.
Herman Kennedy was named the 2012 “Youth of the Year.”
“It was an honor and a privilege to be in the presence of such strong, achieving young adults,” said Sen. Davis. “The Boys and Girls Club does a wonderful job of helping youth overcome adversity through teaching the principles of leadership and good character. It was a pleasure to meet the honorees, and I am excited about what the future holds for each of them.”
“Sen. Davis delivered a wonderful address to our ‘Youth of the Year’ finalists last evening. Everyone relished the opportunity to meet him and he made the night a special event for each of our young people,” said Julie Kennedy, Public and Business Relations Coordinator, Boys and Girls Clubs of Augusta.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Augusta strive to provide a world-class experience that assures success is within reach of every young person that walks through the club doors. Members are on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrate good character and citizenship, and are encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle.
