Sen. Donzella James to Host Operation Winter Warmth in South Fulton

ATLANTA (February 6, 2025) — On Saturday, February 7, 2026, Sen. Donzella James (D–Atlanta) will join Mayor Carmalitha Gumbs, Councilwoman Keosha Bell and Don Mahmood to co-host Operation Winter Warmth. This initiative will help serve residents facing the challenges of the winter season.

“As temperatures drop, our responsibility to one another rises,” said Sen. James. “Operation Winter Warmth is about dignity, compassion, and showing up for our neighbors when they need us most. In South Fulton, we don’t turn away from hardship. Instead, we meet it together, with open hands and caring hearts. I’m proud to stand with leaders and volunteers who understand that serving the community is not optional; it is the very reason we lead.”

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Community leaders across the City of South Fulton are sponsoring a large-scale distribution event designed to provide essential items to those in need. Volunteers will be passing out coats, shampoo and conditioner, blankets, deodorant, water, toothbrushes, coffee and hot chocolate, thermals, beanies and hats, and cheese pizzas.  Any supporters looking to contribute to the cause are welcome to reach out in advance. The event is being organized by volunteers from the 28th Senate District, including Community Leader Haji Agad, Kareemah Hanifa, Abdul Hafeez, Dr. Saad Hammid and Dr. Talha Ijaz.
