Sen. Max Burns Celebrates Approval of Daniel Field Airport Rehabilitation Project

ATLANTA (December 9, 2025) — Today, Sen. Max Burns (R–Sylvania) celebrated the approval of the Daniel Field Airport rehabilitation project. Administered by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the project includes a taxiway update, an update to the airport layout plan, the removal of airport obstructions and an environmental assessment of the airport, along with additional improvements to Daniel Field Airport in the City of Augusta.

“Augusta is growing, and investments like this ensure our infrastructure grows with it,” said Sen. Burns. “Rehabilitating Daniel Field Airport strengthens a vital asset for our region, supports continued economic growth and prepares the airport to meet future demand. I appreciate the Georgia Department of Transportation for working with local leaders to make this project possible and for their ongoing commitment to communities across our state.”
