Governor Signs Bill Creating Health Care Financial Overview Committee
ATLANTA (May 7, 2013) – Senate Bill 62 was signed into Georgia law by Governor Nathan Deal today at the Georgia State Capitol. Sponsored by Sen. Judson Hill (R – Marietta), this legislation creates the Federal and State Funded Health Care Financing Programs Overview Committee. The Committee is charged with periodically reviewing the actions of the Board of Community Health (BCH) and the Department of Community Health (DCH) to evaluate program success and functionality. ATLANTA (May 7, 2013) – Senator Rick Jeffares (R –Locust Grove) applauds Governor Nathan Deal for signing House Bill 287 into law. Carried by Sen. Jeffares in the Senate, HB 287 transfers oversight of the Division of Archives and History from the Secretary of State to the University System of Georgia. Sen. Jeffares Commends Governor Deal for Signing Ethics Reform Bills into Law
ATLANTA (May 7, 2013) –Senator Rick Jeffares (R –Locust Grove) commends Governor Nathan Deal for signing House Bill 142 and House Bill 143 into law. These bills are part of a landmark ethics reform package that limit lobbyist gifts and change the process for reporting campaign contributions in Georgia. Fort Oglethorpe Study Committee to Begin Work
ATLANTA (May 7, 2013) – The City of Fort Oglethorpe Charter Study Committee, which was established by House Resolution 1027 and Senate Resolution 693 to review the validity of and potential changes to the city charter, will name fourteen committee members and release a schedule of open community meetings within the next few weeks.
