Statement from Senate President Pro Tempore David Shafer on HB 475 and SB 122 Bill Signings

WEST POINT, Ga. (May 1, 2013) – Sen. David Shafer (R-Duluth) has released the following statement regarding Governor Deal’s signing of HB 475 and SB 122:

“It was an honor to be present as Governor Deal signed two pro-business bills into law today at the world class Kia Motors manufacturing plant in West Point. Georgia’s prosperity stems from the measures we take to reduce financial and operational burdens on businesses, regardless of size or location within the state. However, the ability to attract new investment also drives Georgia’s overall economic success. HB 475 and SB 122 will streamline processes, encourage capital investment in our state and help create much-needed jobs for Georgians.

“I am particularly proud of my amendments to HB 475 directing the focus on capital investment and job creation.  Both of these bills will strengthen Georgia’s position in a competitive global economy.”
