ATLANTA (October 18, 2018) |Sen. Fran Millar (R – Dunwoody), along with Sen. Brandon Beach (R – Alpharetta), Congresswoman Karen Handel (GA – 6) and Josh Waller with the Department of Transportation will participate in a sign dedication ceremony for former State Senator and State Representative Bob Bell.

“Throughout his life, Bob Bell has dedicated his time to serving others,” said Sen. Millar. “Whether it’s advocating for juvenile justice reform, supporting our national defense or simply being an outstanding legislator at the state capitol for his constituents, Bob has truly done it all. I am so happy that we have the opportunity to show him just how much he means to us and to our state as a whole. Bob Bell embodies what all of us public servants aspire to be, and I am thankful to have his friendship and guidance.”

Former Sen. Bob Bell served in the Georgia General Assembly from 1969 until 1982, where he served in Republican leadership. In 1982, he ran as the Republican nominee for governor. He served the Republican Party of Georgia in several ways, most notably as the chairman. In addition to these leadership positions, he was honored by the Atlanta Journal Constitution in 1980 as one of the state’s 10 Best Legislators and by the National Conference of State Legislators in 1981 as one of the 10 Outstanding Legislators nationwide.
