Sen. Frank Ginn Receives “Champion of Georgia’s Cities” Award

ATLANTA (April 8, 2016)  |  Sen. Frank Ginn (R – Danielsville) received a “Champion of Georgia’s Cities” award from the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) for his work during the 2015 – 2016 legislative sessions. The award was presented to Sen. Ginn during the Auburn City Council meeting on Thursday, April 7. State legislators who most actively support GMA’s initiatives and goals are given this award at the end of every two-year legislative term.

“Georgia citizens deserve to know exactly where their hard-earned state and local tax dollars are going. I am honored by this recognition and commend GMA’s efforts to enhance communications between local governments and residents,” said Sen. Ginn.

Ginn was specifically recognized by GMA for his stance on a firefighters’ workers’ compensation bill and for protecting municipal rights-of-way, public safety and public infrastructure. He was also recognized for his overall willingness to discuss municipal concerns with GMA throughout the session.

“We greatly appreciate Sen. Ginn’s strong support for city government and his willingness to always listen to our issues and concerns,” said GMA Executive Director Lamar Norton. “Due to his strong leadership, the citizens of all of Georgia’s cities will benefit.”

Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit and consulting services to its 520 member cities.
