Sen. Fort Leads Occupy Protesters to Mayor’s Office

ATLANTA (December 17, 2012) – Today, Senator Vincent Fort (D- Atlanta) led a group of Occupy Atlanta Protesters to Mayor Kasim Reed’s office to call on him to testify in the case surrounding the arrests of more than 50 protesters in October 2011.

“Mayor Reed has been subpoenaed to testify during this important case where peaceful protesters are being treated like criminals,” said Sen. Fort.  “I’m concerned that his absence is yet another sign of the great lengths the City of Atlanta will go to when they are in the wrong.  It is my sincere hope that Mayor Reed will testify so that we can put this preposterous case behind us.”

Sen. Fort, along with 50 other protesters, is currently on trial for taking part in the Occupy Atlanta Protests last year.
