Sen. Emanuel Jones to Receive Atlanta Business League’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award

ATLANTA (April 3, 2014) | Sen. Emanuel Jones (D- Decatur), Chairman of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Advisory Council, has been named the Atlanta Business League’s 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year.  He has been recognized as an outstanding minority business owner who is a proven leader, evidenced by his savvy business tactics, tenacity to succeed, financial success and commitment to community service.

“I have long admired the Atlanta Business League and their commitment to providing economic empowerment and business development opportunities for minority owned businesses,” said Sen. Jones. “This organization has been instrumental in so many peoples success and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without their support and encouragement. I look forward to attending the luncheon next month to celebrate with the other honorees as we continue to look for innovative ways to cultivate African American business leaders.”

The Atlanta Business League is the South’s oldest and most influential minority business development and advocacy organization. Formed in 1933, the Atlanta Business League seeks to provide economic incentives and business development opportunities for minorities throughout the metro Atlanta community with specific emphasis on the development of African-American businesses.  Each year, the Atlanta Business League uses the awards ceremony as an opportunity to salute those CEOs within the community who work each day to ensure that historically underutilized businesses participate in the economic mainstream of Corporate America.

The Atlanta Business League’s 36th Annual CEO Appreciation Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, 11:30 am, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. For more information, or to register, please visit www.atlantabusinessleague.org or call 404-584-8126.
