Sen. Donzella James Issues the Following Statement on Intent to Withdraw Senate Bill 23

ATLANTA (January 21, 2019) | Sen. Donzella James (D – Atlanta) issued the following statement on her intent to withdrawal Senate Bill 23:

“Senate Bill 23 was introduced with the intent to make our roads safer by limiting the use of trailers towed by cars or trucks on state highways without the proper licensure. After hearing the feedback from the communities effected by Senate Bill 23, I have determined that the language in the legislation was not as specific as intended. While traffic issues such as these are serious and need to be addressed, I have decided to withdraw SB 23. There are other ways that we can solve this problem without legislation and I plan to work with municipal governments and stakeholders in Palmetto, South Fulton, Union City and across the state in order to find individualized, suitable solutions to this and other associated traffic concerns.”
