ATLANTA (March 30, 2017) | Senator Bruce Thompson (R – White) presented Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. with Senate Resolution 528 on Thursday to recognize them for their disaster relief efforts nationwide.
“Anheuser-Busch has set the precedent for companies to utilize their resources for the betterment of the communities they are involved in,” said Sen. Thompson. “They continually go above and beyond to ensure clean drinking water is available to areas struck by natural disasters. I am inspired by their commitment to disaster relief and am honored to have had the privilege to recognize them in this capacity.”
Anheuser-Busch has owned and operated a 900,000 square foot brewery in Cartersville, Georgia since 1993. Since 1998, the Anheuser-Busch Cartersville brewery has donated over 74 million cans of drinking water for disaster relief. In 2016, this brewery donated two million cans of drinking water to support communities hit by natural disasters including the California brush fires, Louisiana floods and Hurricane Matthew.
The Anheuser-Busch Cartersville Brewery sits on 1,700 acres in Bartow County. Approximately 250 trucks leave the brewery per day to deliver product to Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina. Anheuser-Busch and its employees build on a legacy of corporate social responsibility by focusing on three key areas: promoting alcohol responsibility, preserving and protecting the environment and supporting local communities.
