Majority Leader Dugan Appointed to Southern Legislative Conference Committee

ATLANTA (July 2, 2019) |Senate Majority Leader Mike Dugan (R – Carrollton) was recently appointed to serve on the Economic Development, Transportation and Cultural Affairs Committee of the Southern Legislative Conference (SLC).

“It is an honor to serve as a representative for our state within SLC and to be appointed to a committee that fits in with two areas I am particularly passionate about – economic development and transportation,” said Majority Leader Dugan. “By working with my colleagues on this committee and other members of SLC, we can discuss and share ideas on what is working to boost economic development and improve transportation infrastructure around the region. I look forward to bringing back information on initiatives and solutions that will improve the lives of Georgians.”

The SLC, of the Council of State Governments (CSG), includes members from 15 southern states and was established in 1947. This organization is non-partisan and is “a member-driven organization and serves as the premier public policy forum for Southern state legislatures.” During the annual conference, SLC organizes meetings and learning sessions on existing and future issues impacting state governments. Members are encouraged to meet with colleagues to share their experiences and to speak with experts about key policy issues.
