Fourth Meeting of the Senate Special Tax Exemption Study Committee

ATLANTA (October 17, 2017) | The fourth meeting of the Senate Special Tax Exemption Study Committee will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kia Georgia Training Center in West Point, Georgia.

Senate Resolution 222, sponsored by Sen. John Albers (R – Roswell), creates the Senate Special Tax Exemption Study Committee. Sen. Albers serves as chair of the six member study committee. Members of the study committee are working with the Department of Revenue, Senate Research, Pew Charitable Trust and others to examine the costs and benefits of all state tax exemptions. Additionally, the goal of the study committee is to ensure that each exemption has the potential for a Return on Investment (ROI). The study committee is responsible for submitting a report of findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation, by December 31, 2017.
