Sen. John Albers Applauds Senate for Passing Senate Bill 277

ATLANTA (February 18, 2016) | On Thursday, the Georgia State Senate passed by a vote of 39-14 Senate Bill 277, titled Protecting Georgia Small Businesses Act. SB 277 clarifies that neither a franchisee nor a franchisee’s employee be considered employees of the franchisor, highlighting this difference in Georgia law. Sen. John Albers (R-Roswell) sponsored the bill to protect and support franchisees which are small business owners. This bill was supported by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, NFIB, Georgia Childcare Association, Georgia Restaurant Association, Asian American Hotel Owners Association and others. Sen. Lester Jackson Applauds Senate for Passing Senate Bill 319
