Sen. Sonya Halpern to Hold Press Conference to Discuss Findings from the Senate Study Committee on Excellence, Innovation, and Technology at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)

ATLANTA (February 7, 2023) | On Thursday, February 9, 2023, Sen. Sonya Halpern (D – Atlanta) will hold a press conference at the State Capitol to give a formal announcement on the findings and recommendations made by the Senate Study Committee on Excellence, Innovation, and Technology at HBCUs, a study committee Sen. Halpern chaired during the 2022 Interim.

Senator Sonya Halpern Represents Georgia on Transnational Diplomatic Trip

ATLANTA (December 9, 2022) | Georgia State Senator Sonya Halpern (D – Atlanta) is currently on a trip to Israel with a delegation of fourteen elected officials and civic leaders from across the nation. The week-long trip is co-sponsored by the American-Israel Friendship League (AIFL) and the State of Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. Sen. Halpern will visit Tel Aviv and Metula before visiting holy sites in Jerusalem and the Yad Vashem, Israel’s official Holocaust memorial. The group will also visit the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) in addition to participating in meetings and briefings with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
