The measure would allow for organic human reduction as a means of disposing of deceased human bodies to those who are licensed funeral directors or establishments, embalmers and crematories.

Democratic Caucus Chair Sen. Elena Parent Applauds Passage of House Bill 428 to Codify Right to In Vitro Fertilization

ATLANTA (March 28, 2025) — Yesterday, House Bill 428 passed out of the Senate with bipartisan support. The measure codifies Georgians’ right to in vitro fertilization (IVF) by establishing that any future legislation in the Georgia Code cannot prohibit or prevent a person’s ability to obtain in vitro fertilization.

Sen. Sally Harrell and Sen. Elena Parent Introduce Legislation to Create Voluntary “No Sell” Firearms List

ATLANTA (February 24, 2025) — Last week, Sen. Sally Harrell (D–Atlanta) and Sen. Elena Parent (D–Atlanta) filed Senate Bill 224, “Donna’s Law,” to allow Georgia citizens at risk for suicidal ideations to place themselves on the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Firearms Checks List to protect themselves.
