ATLANTA (March 20, 2013) – House Bill 350, which was carried in the Senate by Sen. Butch Miller (R-Gainesville) passed the Senate today by a vote of 44-4. This bill requires all childcare center directors and employees as well as all Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) employees to pass a national fingerprint records check every five years.

ATLANTA (March 20, 2013) – Senator Mike Dugan (R-Carrollton) carried his first bill in the State Senate today. House Bill 256 would add cigar wraps to the list of “tobacco related objects” as listed in the Georgia Code and passed 44-6.
ATLANTA (March 14, 2013) –Senator Ed Harbison (D-Columbus) led the passage of House Bill 414 which authorizes Columbus to exercise all restoration powers permitted under the Redevelopment Powers Law. ATLANTA (March 13, 2013) – Sen. John Albers (R –Roswell) was recognized by United States Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol (CAP) on Wednesday, March 13. Sen. Albers volunteers with CAP, where he holds the rank of Major. Sen. Albers was awarded a Red Service Ribbon for his service as a member of CAP’s Legislative Squadron.
