Once again, sleet and ice threatened metro Atlanta this week, forcing all state government offices to close at noon on Wednesday to ensure the safety of all state employees and Georgians. I think we can all agree that we were glad to see the winter weather pass and hope it will be the last of this kind of weather for the year.

ATLANTA (February 19, 2015) | Sens. Elena Parent (D – Atlanta) and Gloria Butler (D – Stone Mountain) on Tuesday dropped Senate Bills 118, 120 and 121, three pieces of legislation that will work together to increase transparency in DeKalb governmental operations.
ATLANTA (February 17, 2015) | Sen. Harold Jones II (D – Augusta) today signed on in support of a bill which aims to help Georgia’s failing schools. The bill would create the “Unlocking the Promise” community schools program, a program designed to target the causes of failed schools.
