ATLANTA (September 22, 2023) | Yesterday, Senator Freddie Powell-Sims (D – Dawson) was joined by Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones, Senate President Pro Tempore John F. Kennedy (R – Macon) and Senator Matt Brass (R – Newnan) on a community tour of Albany, Georgia. This trip provided an interactive platform for legislators to connect with residents of Southwest Georgia at various stops across the region. Meetings took place with local citizens, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, educators and regional elected officials to further understand specific challenges that the community faces.

This committee, chaired by Senator Larry Walker III (R – Perry), is working to examine current occupational licensing laws and requirements to determine if they should be modified or restructured to encourage, promote, and foster employment and healthy business growth in the state of Georgia.
