ATLANTA (February 24, 2012) –The Georgia Senate passed SB 372 today in a unanimous vote. Sponsored by Sen. Renee Unterman (R-Buford), this legislation would require funeral directors to make a reasonable effort to determine whether the deceased is a veteran.

Digital Learning Bill Passes State Senate
ATLANTA (February 23, 2011) – The Digital Learning Act passed the Senate with a bi-partisan vote of 36-15. The bill was sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) is expected to make Georgia a national leader in online learning.

Senate Majority Leader Champions Bill Protecting Teachers
ATLANTA (February 23, 2012) — Senate Bill 153, sponsored by Sen. Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock), has passed the Senate 51-0 with overwhelming bipartisan support. The bill requires that written documentation be provided to teachers, administrators, and contract employees who have been terminated or suspended only for financial reasons, specifying such as the reason for their termination or suspension.
