Sen. Mike Crane Hosts Pages
ATLANTA (February 27, 2013) – Sen. Mike Crane (R-Newnan) hosted pages from Senate District 28th today in the State Senate.
“It’s a great privilege to host pages at the State Capitol,” said Sen. Crane. “Their participation in state government is a sign of their future leadership roles and an excellent educational experience.”
Paging has been a tradition in Georgia’s government since the early 1800’s. Students 12 and over serve as messengers, delivering notes to legislators while they are in chamber. This experience provides them with hands-on exposure to politics, how a bill becomes a law and the functions of the state legislature.
