ATLANTA (February 17, 2016) | On Wednesday, the Georgia State Senate passed Senate Bill 319 by a unanimous vote of 51-0. Sen. Lester Jackson (D – Savannah), sponsored SB 319 which updates the definition of “professional counseling” for Licensed Professional Counselors to add the word “diagnose” into their scope of practice definition.

Sen. Nan Orrock Hosts Literacy Day

Sen. Renee Unterman Introduces Fantasy Sports Regulation Legislation
ATLANTA (February 16, 2016) | Sen. Renee Unterman (R – Buford) has introduced legislation to regulate Georgia’s rapidly growing fantasy sports industry. Senate Bill 352 was drafted in an effort to protect consumers and the integrity of all fantasy sports contests, as well as codify important industry standards. Update from the Gold Dome

The Georgia General Assembly is officially halfway through with the 2016 legislative session and just 10 legislative days away from a significant deadline: Crossover Day. The 30th legislative day, or Crossover Day, is the last day for Senate bills to be carried to the House for consideration, and vice versa. The Senate will dedicate the next few weeks to improving and vetting bills before they go before the entire General Assembly for approval. Continue reading “Update from the Gold Dome”
