Jason Anavitarte (R – Dallas) announced today that the cities of Cedartown and Rockmart have been selected by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to move forward in the application process to receive funds from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant program.

Senator Jason Anavitarte Appointed as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education and Youth

ATLANTA (January 13, 2021) Yesterday, Sen. Jason Anavitarte (R – Dallas) was appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education and Youth and to serve on several influential committees for the 2021 Legislative Session by Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan and the Senate Committee on Assignments.

“I feel incredibly honored to have been selected to serve as a committee Vice Chairman during my first year serving the Senate,” said Sen. Anavitarte. “One of my top priorities is making sure we as legislators are working to better our school systems in Georgia. I am looking forward to using my passion and expertise as a former school board member and a father of three children in public school to serve on this committee. Additionally, I am very much looking forward to serving on the Ethics, Banking and Financial Institutions, Science and Technology, and Transportation committees.”

The first session of the 156th Georgia General Assembly convened on January 11, 2021, at the Georgia State Capitol.
