Senate Passes Bill to Create Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency

ATLANTA (March 20, 2012) – The Georgia Senate passed HB 1146 on Tuesday by a vote of 46 to 2.  Sponsored in the Senate by Sen. Butch Miller (R-Gainesville), this legislation transfers the Division of Rehabilitation Services from the Department of Labor to the newly created Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency.

Senate Passes Bill Protecting Private Schools from Breach of Confidentiality of Student Records

ATLANTA (March 2, 2012) – The Georgia Senate passed SB 405 unanimously in the Senate on Wednesday. Sponsored by Sen. Butch Miller (R-Gainesville), this legislation ensures private institutions are not held liable for potential breaches in confidentiality, involving transferred student records, as a result of actions by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement and its employees.

Senate Bill Passes to Provide Hospitals More Accreditation Options

ATLANTA (February 27, 2012) –The Georgia Senate passed SB 361 unanimously last Wednesday, which would expand accreditation of health care facilities to include additional nationally recognized health care accreditation entities. Passage of Senate Bill 339 Transfers Aircraft and Personnel from Georgia Aviation Authority

ATLANTA (February 7, 2012) –The Georgia Senate passed SB 339 today by a vote of 50 to 5. Sponsored by Senator Butch Miller (R-Gainesville), this legislation would transfer personnel, aircraft, and other assets from the Georgia Aviation Authority back to the Department of Natural Resources and the State Forestry Commission.
