President Pro Tempore John F. Kennedy Assigned to Senate Committees

ATLANTA (January 12, 2022) | Today, President Pro Tempore John F. Kennedy was appointed to serve on a number of Senate Committees for the 2023 Legislative Session. Due to his role as President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Pro Tem Kennedy serves as a member of the Senate Committee on Assignments. The Senate Committee on Assignments is chaired by the President of the Senate, Lt. Governor Burt Jones, and is composed of the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, The Majority Leader Sen. Steve Gooch, Sen. Greg Dolezal (R – Cumming) and Sen. Brandon Beach (R – Alpharetta). The committee is responsible for assigning the Senate Body to committees in addition to having such duties that the Lt. Governor may assign to it at his discretion.

Senator John Albers Reinstated as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Safety

ATLANTA (January 12, 2022) | Today, Senator John Albers (R – Roswell) was reinstated as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Safety for the 2023 Legislative Session. The Senate Committee on Assignments, chaired by Lt. Governor Burt Jones, is responsible for assigning the Senate body to committees.

Joint Study Committee on the Electrification of Transportation Adopts Final Committee Report

ATLANTA (January 4, 2022) | On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, members of the Joint Study Committee on the Electrification of Transportation, Co-Chaired by Sen. Steve Gooch (R – Dahlonega) and Rep. Rick Jasperse (R – Jasper), adopted its final committee report, outlining the committee’s work and recommendations after several months of study.
