Capitol Recap: A Season of Thanks – Honoring Georgia’s Veterans

As part of the day-to-day motions of life, we often try to reflect on the blessings presented before us, whether it is family and friends that are in good health, job stability or certain forms of economic revival. The month of November is no different and the rapidly approaching holiday seasons tend to add an even greater emphasis on these ideas of gratitude and giving thanks; although, I know this year has presented some rather unexpected challenges for us all. As we work together to surmount the obstacles brought forth by the pandemic, I encourage you to redirect your attention on the issues and people that matter the most. In recognition of that and Veteran’s Day this month, I would like to spend the time here honoring the valiant individuals who allow us to continue living the life we lead: our active and retired servicemen and women.

Sen. John Albers to Hold Teleconference Town Hall to Provide Update on Job Seeker Opportunities and Coronavirus Response

Sen. Blake Tillery Appointed to the Southern Regional Education Board’s Legislative Advisory Council

ATLANTA (October 22, 2020) | Sen. Blake Tillery (R – Vidalia) has been appointed to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)’s Legislative Advisory Committee by Governor Brian P. Kemp. In this capacity, Sen. Tillery will serve alongside other state legislators and delegates to advise the board on key policy issues related to educational progress.

Capitol Recap: Pandemic’s Impact on Food and Fiber, and Plans to Overcome

We’ve seen a drop in temperature over recent weeks and some crisp mornings. Fall is definitely in the air, which signals exciting Friday night and Saturday football games, fun at the Georgia National Fair (in “normal” years) and much anticipated harvest time for Georgia farmers. However, the pandemic has impacted just about every aspect of our life and significantly changed, or cancelled, our seasonal traditions.
