ATLANTA (January 9, 2009) –Sen. Jeff Chapman (R-Brunswick) was appointed to vice-chairman of the Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Committee by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle for the 2008-2009 term of the Georgia General Assembly. Sen. Chapman will also continue to serve as the secretary of the Senate Public Safety Committee.

John Douglas (R-Social Circle) was re-appointed Senate Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Committee Chairman for the 2009-10 sessions of the Georgia General Assembly by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle. The committee exists to maintain Senate oversight for veterans’ services, National Guard activities and homeland security efforts in Georgia.
