Trauma Funding in GA may soon be a Reality

ATLANTA (April 29, 2010) – Critical funding for Georgia’s trauma care network may soon be a reality from legislation sponsored by Sen. Cecil Staton (R-Macon).  Senate Resolution 277, which passed the Georgia General Assembly today, would create the Georgia Trauma Trust Fund (GTTF) if Georgia voters approve the measure this November.  The fund would become the state’s first dedicated funding source for the statewide trauma network, possibly generating up to $90 million a year.

Georgia Property Owners Triumph with General Assembly passage SB 346

ATLANTA (April 29, 2010) – Georgia’s property owners triumphed in the General Assembly today with the Georgia House and Senate overwhelmingly passing Senate Bill 346.  Championed and authored by Senate Majority Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock), the Property Tax Assessment and Appeals reform bill is aimed at ensuring all Georgia properties are properly assessed at Fair Market Value and that property owners have guaranteed rights to appeal. Sen. Judson Hill’s Healthcare Choice Protection Measure Clears General Assembly

ATLANTA (Apr. 27, 2010) – State Sen. Judson Hill’s (R-Marietta) legislation protecting Georgia’s current rights on health care choice was approved Tuesday by the Georgia General Assembly.  Senate Bill 317, authored by Hill and already approved by the Georgia Senate, was added as an amendment to Senate Bill 411 before SB 411 passed the Georgia House of Representatives.  The addition of Hill’s language would prohibit mandatory participation in any healthcare system.  Continue reading “Sen.
