Sen. James Joins ZERO Waste Coalition for “Moving from Green to ZERO” Land Dedication and Groundbreaking Ceremony

ATLANTA (July 29, 2013) – State Senator Donzella James (D-Atlanta) recently attended a land dedication and groundbreaking ceremony for Ben Hill Villa Estates, a green and energy efficient neighborhood in College Park, GA.  She was joined by members of the ZERO Waste Coalition as well as officials from VH II Homes LLC, builder of Ben Hill Villa Estates, and Green SHADES Foundation.

“It was an honor to take part in such a momentous event for the 35th District,” said Sen. James.  “The ZERO waste initiate has been a passion of mine for many years and it truly was a dream come true to see this project come to fruition.  I look forward to many more similar developments throughout our great state as we strive for ZERO Waste by 2020.”

VH II homes will implement “cradle to cradle” processes prior to construction that supports alternate energy and clean water processes, the design and circulation of clean air, reducing contaminants and emissions during construction laying a framework for green building and spectacular landscaping production.  This unique development is part of the ongoing ZERO Waste efforts to support a more eco-friendly and sustainable Georgia, an initiative created by Sen. James in 1995.
